Crazy idea...

I've been talking music with miusheri who just recently got a viola. Now, she's a goodly distance away- but we had this awesome idea.

A Web Quartet, where we meet and play via VoIP type technologies.

Now, there's a major problem with it- latency. Even a telephone has pretty bad latency when we're talking getting four people playing together at the same time. So, my question is, does anyone know of VoIP type technologies with really low latency and reasonable quality?

The other option, not nearly as cool, is to get four people to record each part seperately- but using a metronome to keep the same time, and then dubbing the tracks together- practicable, but not nearly as awesome.
