My Hat!
So at one of those big industry cons, Sierra games released some screenshots from Half-Life 2, which has been delayed so many times people are starting to get frustrated.

This I think makes it worth the wait.

I'm not a real gamer, but I appreciate games with artistry. _This_ is art.

Speaking of artistry, I think I found my new user icon. Even better than "Take the Skinheads Bowling, Take them Bowling"

Now, when running an art museum, you tend to have things like alarms, right? Even more so when some of the paintings you have were stolen a few years earlier, right? Or not. Edvard Munch's "Scream" and "Madonna" have been stolen.

In other news, The Transformers comic books predicted 9/11. Now tell me Bush didn't know ahead of time. If Optimus Prime could know about it, there's no reason Bush can't!

Last but not least, Siena-folk, remember how we'd all go to Siena hall, and occasionally hook up a Dreamcast and play video games on the big screen? Well, someone took that idea to help a struggling theater. Pretty damn cool.
  • Still waiting for Half Life 2? Its out already, well, the release wasn't exactly authorized, but I'm sure you've heard of the code swipe, and apparently it was compiled into a playable game.
    • I should see if I can get the code and hack a linux port. That'd be heelarious. Especially once the game is actually out, and one can get the actual official artwork for it.

Personally, I think Sierra should just Open Source the damn thing- people will still pay for the art of the game- the sets, the levels, etc. ID should do the same thing with Doom 3.

The end result? Linux users will buy the game because someone will hack a linux port.
      • ID at least open sources their code after a few years. They like to keep their new stuff secret, but after a few years, when they have a replacement, they let it loose. It would be nice if more companies would do that. Imagine Win 3.x or even Win 95 released under, say, the BSD license... while those products are outdated and were of questionable quality even when they were new, it would still include some useful stuff- and the boost to WINE would be insane.
  • ok, the fun-lovin' KKK on a ferris wheel is just disturbing...
