On New Horizons Courseware...

In the java classes I ran, I taught basic graphics, and I taught basic window design and layout... but never at the same time. And of course, there are special little tricks that come up when you do both...

On the upshot, I've got an applet that rolls and draws dice, which can then be used in a roses/petals/roots puzzle. Don't know what I'm talking about?

Take eight six sided dice. Roll them. Simply by looking at them, tell me how many roses, petals and roots there are. For example, in a roll like this: 6, 5, 2, 3, 5, 2, 4, 1, there are: 4 roses, 24 petals, 28 roots.

Simple, right? ::grins evilly:: Also, you really want to try this with dice that have pips on them, not the cheapie ones with numbers instead. Anyone who wants to post or email a roll and a guess, I can correct it for you, or you can wait till I finish the applet.
