On Unique Beauty and Decadence

Cate and I were talking outside a moment ago, and noted a blue damsel fly. Which got us commenting on various insects, and how even those shit-eating green, blue and orange flies were really pretty.

And in fact, one of the prettiest things I can think of, is when you come across a pile of dog shit, and it's covered with flies, so much so you don't even see the shit. You look at them, take a step closer, and whoosh! There's an explosion of color, and all that's left is dog shit.
