Building 'n Me

I've lost control of my life...

...and that control has been handed over to a story called, in its working first-draft title, "Shooter". In the near future, it will most likely be promotoed to Shooter. It currently dwells at a length of 37 pages, and there's so much story to tell.

I can't stop writing it. Last night, I got off the phone with Minna at about two, with the intent of going to bed. I decided that I'd have one cigarette and write, and when that cigarette was done, I'd go to bed.

Three cigarettes, two hours, and five pages later, I stopped writing and forced myself to sleep. I dream about it. It's almost perpetually on my mind. I hung out with Sarah and Dennis last night, and was glad of it, because if they hadn't called, I would have spent the entire night writing.

As far as the story goes, it's a SciFi/Fantasy/Gothic/Western. Each page is raising new questions and creating new mysteries, new characters appear and vanish, but there's always that feeling that they'll come back, there's more for them to do.

Be warned, at some point, I'm probably going to foist it off on people. It's going to recieve some friendly pre-editting from people, and then dulcinbradbury and I are banging out a financial exchange for more rigorous editting work. After that... I don't know. It may see submission to a publisher. It may see self-publication.

It won't let me go, and I'm not going to fight it. I want to see how far down the rabbit hole goes.
My Hat!

Remember what I said about...

...this story taking over my life. How does 52 pages, single spaced sound, with only a handful of breaks since getting some munchies at about 2:30. Figure, I've been sitting here since three, taking shorter breaks than I do at work. I've written nearly twenty pages today.

Holy carp, twenty fucking pages today.

Oh, as a note, I saw a holy fucking carp in Harrisburg. Minna came to visit you see, and we went out to a chinese restaurant (a big step up from the one we went to the last time in Harrisburg), and in the fish tank, they had what had to be a ten pound carp. Its mouth was huge, I'm talking bite-your-dick-off huge. Fucking gigantic calico carp.

Just an FYI.

I'm going to try not to write any more for a little bit I think.
