I just understood something about magick.
That which we think is real is jsut as real as the external reality. Internal shapes external, and vice versa.
A mage has to walk a line between expanding his internal and shaping the external, because if he reaches too far, the differences between his interal reality and the external reality become so great that he's insane. He can't operate at all, because he percieves things with extreme difference to the way everyone else percieves them.
Humming strumming let the cleansing begin.
Have you noticed how
I can get?
No accident. I'm a silly bumkin. But the thing is... I need to let go. I've bbeen too static for too long... I can feel the dynamism building. I want to get onward... and into the primal essense that kicks things going.
Yes, I want to be a mage. Magick exists, I've seen it, I've done it. It isn't even really magick- just science we don't understand yet. So the thing is...
Just to share, this song is absolutely wonderful... find it, hear it, and love it.
There are words struggling to come out... but they won't reach my fingers to be typed.
In the beginning (sounds like a good place to start) there was an idea. There is no beginning but the beginning and that shall be our beginning. A simple, single thought that carried on, information so neatly encapsulated within it that it could self replicate and take on the varying forms, comprising everything we recognize from the tiniest subatomic particles, to our bodies to our world, to the stars and nebulae.
Scientists have proven that the amount of information that can be stored on a single electron is infinite, since a particle can exist in an infinite number of quantum states at any moment, or something like that. They've stored eight bits on a single electron already.
And this space tourist thing is cool. If I had twenty million dollars, I'd get my ass up onto the space station. You know what's absolutey sad though? They changed the name from "Freedom" to the "International Space Station" when other countries hopped on. Just kinda odd, isn't it? It can't be "Freedom" if the russians and the japanese and other countries get into it? Americans have a monopoly on freedom?
Why is it that this semester I'm pretty much purposefully boning classes? I mean, I'm not doing shit for work. I accomplish nothing each day. I dont want to. Why should I? It bores me.
There's a dragon at siena. A real, honest to goodness dragon.
The world is full of magick, and the shadows of magickal creatures. Our local disbelief is so strong that it kinda prohibits them from forming in any coporeal way, but they're there. The dragon, a great big red one, lives in the crane/is the crane that was brought in to assemble our new dorm. It is kinda sleepy, and not totally aware that it exists. During the day, when the crane works, you can see it flying around the campus, its wings making this deep *thrump* sound as they pound the air.
The rest of the time, it sleeps in the crane, or as the crane, or something.
Sarah and I are going to go talk to it tonight.
