Oh... and...

The same secret that lead to my purging was restrained again tonight, as conversation on the topic came up.

I do not like biting my tongue. On the same token, I want more openness in the world. Solution: people shouldn't keep secrets. Or move quickly to resolve circumstances that create them.

In other words, while I will not betray your trust, you have to move rapidly and responsibly to bring it to conclusion. There are others, by virtue of being your friend, that are concerned about it, and have a vested interest in seeing you well off, and seeing an amiacable conclusion to all of this.
